Dogs are fed according to their weight to keep them healthy. Nikki keeps two dogs, Tiger and Tommy, which weigh 22 kg and 42 kg respectively.
DAILY FOOD REQUIREMENTS ACCORDING TO WEIGHT: 1 Calculate the amount of daily minimum food requirements for the two dogs. Give your answer in cups.
Use 1 cup = 125 g
2 Calculate the number of days a 10 kg packet of dog food will last the two dogs feeding them with minimum requirement ratios.
You may use the formula:
Number of days = (weight of a packet)/(daily requirement of two dogs)
3 Convert Tommy’s weight to tons. 1 ton = 1 000 kg.

1.    Amount of daily minimum food requirements for the two dogs (250+500) = 750 g = 750/125 = 6 cups.

2.    Number of days = (10)/(0.75) = 13.3333 which is approximately 13 days

3.    Tommy’s weight = 42/1000 = 0.042 tons. 1 ton
