In the sketch below, ΔMNP is drawn having a right angle at PN and angle AMN = 15 units. A is the midpoint of PN and angle AMN = 21°.

Hence, calculate:

a.    AN

b.    angle PMN

a.    AN/MN = tan 21°

AN = 15 tan 21°

AN = 5.76

 

b.    tan PMN = PN/MN

= 11.52/15

∴ ref ∠ = tan^-1(11.52/15)

= 37.52°
