Spatial statistics are primarily concerned with geographical spatial data containing location data. Non-spatial statistics can contain any data, not necessarily spatial.

Spatial statistics define a location. They are in the form of graphic primitives that are

usually either points, lines, polygons or pixels.

Non spatial statistics are numbers, characters or logical type.

Spatial statistics answers questions and proves hypotheses for effective decision making by measuring properties and relationships of data taking into consideration the spatial location of the subject of the study, the attributes and the relationship of features of the spatial data.
