Alexa pushes on an object with 10 Newtons of force to the right.  Julie pushes the same object with 6 Newtons to the left.  What is the net force acting on the object? (This is why we did vectors!!!)

The net Force is 4 Newtons

Assuming right = + and left = -

Fnet = 10 - 6

        = 4N to the right
