Remember that a square has 4 equal sides,

Given that the area of a square is given by:

\[A=s \times s\]

where $s$ is a side, then

\[441=s^2\]

taking the square root os $441$ gives the value of $s$

therefore

\[s=\sqrt{441}=21\]
