One year on July 1 in northern Canada I was camping and the sun set around 11 PM. A year later in Hawaii the sun set at around 7 PM. This led to the basic question, given the day of the year and the latitude, when does the sun set? [Since this depends on "time zones", a better question is probably, "how many hours of daylight are there?"
