What is the difference between melting and boiling points?

The melting point of a substance is the temperature at which it changes from a solid to a liquid, while the boiling point is the temperature at which it changes from a liquid to a gas.

For example, when a substance is heated, it will first reach its melting point and change from a solid to a liquid. As it continues to be heated, it will eventually reach its boiling point and change from a liquid to a gas.
