Let 2 - 0.5 = x(1 - 0.5)

1.5 = 0.5x

x = 1.5/0.5 = 3

This implies that 2 - 0.5 = 3(1 - 0.5)

Therefore 2 - 0.5 is  three (3) times (1 - 0.5)
