Education is about learning. Learning useful information and skills that are of value to humanity. SOme information can be readily used to convert ideas into finished goods whilst some knowledge enables us to behave in a way that enhances the human race.

Education is not confined to a classroom or learning management system but anything that gives you more knowledge is education. It transcends the traditional definitions that have assumed that teachers and professors were the sole custodians of knowledge that they could dissipate to students who before the lecture are empty vessels waiting to be filled.

Below is a list of reasons why education is important for everyone:

  • People will become better citizens with education
  • For a happy and stable life
  • Ability to get income (money)
  • Education is the ultimate equalizer, people from poor backgrounds have an opportunity to change their fate
  • People become independent
  • Makes the world a safer and more peaceful place
  • Makes you confident
  • Gives people an opportunity to improve the human condition
