Biostatistics provides the methodology for data collection and analysis of studies in the areas of medicine, public health, environmental health and related fields.
The aim of this course is to introduce basic descriptive and inferential statistical concepts in a format of self-directed learning tutorials
- To teach basic data management and data analysis skills using specific programmes.
- To teach basic descriptive and inferential statistical concepts.
- To enable students to understand the relevance of statistical methods in epidemiological research, with particular emphasis on interpretation and critical appraisal of published studies.
