A marine ecosystem involves all the organisms that use water bodies as their habitat. This involves also interdependence of those organisms(plants and animals) on each other in that marine ecosystem.

Marine ecosystems can be described as the interaction of plants, animals and the marine environment. Marine is defined as produced by or of the sea or ocean. Sea or ocean waters are known to be salty waters hence marine ecosystem can be simply defined as the salt water ecosystem. Marine ecosystem support a range of inhabitants based on where they live and their characteristics for example jellyfish, dolphins, fish and algae.
