1 Calculate the area of the material needed to make ONE tea towel. Area of a rectangle = length × breadth
2 Sinethemba wants to add a decorative border to some of the tea towels. Calculate the perimeter of a tea towel.

1.    area = length × breadth    = 30 cm × 45 cm  = 1 350 cm2

2.    perimeter = 2(length + breadth)

= 2(30 cm + 45 cm)

= 2(75 cm)

= 150 cm
