South Africa operates using mixed economic system which combines aspects of communism(government control) economic system and capitalism/market (less government control) economic system. This system is good as it is balanced with advantages and of course with some disadvantages.

A mixed economy allows private businesses participation in production, which in return allows a healthy competition that gives profits and higher quality of products and services. On the other hand protects and assists those who can not manage private services when government control intervenes.
