speed of light = 3 x 10^8 m/s

distance = speed x time

               =  3 x 10^8 x ( 8 x 60) , convert minutes to seconds,

                = 1.44 x 10^11 m

                = 144 000 0000 km

This gives an indication of how fast light can travel at any given specified time to reach its destination.
