$1 /(4 \mathrm{x}-2)=5 / 6 \ldots$ We can cross multiply:

$5(4 \mathrm{x}-2)=1 * 6 \ldots$ Now, we distribute 5 to the parenthesis:

$20 x-10=6 \ldots$ We need $x$ term alone on one side:

$20 x=6+10$

$20 \mathrm{x}=16 \ldots$ Dividing both sides by 20 :

$\mathrm{x}=16 / 20$... Simplifying by 2 and having 10 in the denominator provides us finding the decimal equivalent of $\mathrm{x}$ : $x=8 / 10=0.8$
