Every medicine which is on the market in Zimbabwe should have been registered or approved by MCAZ. However, there are certain instances whereby a product is not available on the market but the prescribers (doctors, dentists and veterinary surgeons) feel that and can provide evidence that it is vital for the well-being of their patients, that medicine can be procured by approved premises under provisions of Section 75 of the Medicines and Allied Substances Control Act (MASCA).
